Army vs. Navy Game & Tailgate!
Go Army! This year the Army beat Navy 22-0 to win the 19th Annual Fort Meade Army vs. Navy Flag Football Game. The Military Affairs Committee of the Central Maryland Chamber is proud to be the prime sponsor of the event to help support important services for military families.

Fort Meade recently won the Excellence in Army Recreation Award presented at the Annual National Recreation Parks Association Conference for it's Annual Army vs. Navy Flag Football Game and Tailgate.

In recognition of the Military Affairs Committee's critical role in supporting this initiative, Fort Meade awarded the chamber with an honorary plaque. There is a great article on the important role the chamber plays in making this event possible in support of military families.

Offit Kurman Attorneys At Law announced that the firm has won the GGI Member Firm of the Year Award . GGI Geneva Group International (GGI) is a global alliance of independent, professional services firms. Its members include law, accounting, management consulting, and trust companies.

Offit Kurman has also announced that a group of attorneys from Salon Marrow Dyckman Newman & Broudy LLP have agreed to join the firm in Manhattan. The news  as reported in the New York Law Journal  is the latest in a series of recent strategic expansions for Offit Kurman in New York City, following similar affiliations with attorneys from Menaker & Herrmann and Eaton & Van Winkle earlier this year. The Salon Marrow affiliation becomes effective January 1st, 2019.

The Maryland STEM Festival’s mission is to encourage students of all ages, regardless of their background or experience, to take a greater interest in STEM with the hope that they will pursue a STEM job or career.

On November 10th, the Festival is organizing its first Parade at Anne Arundel Community College. It will be a walking parade followed by booths with STEM
Activities. The purpose of the parade is to engage and inspire students in a fun way to encourage a greater interest in STEM.

Stormwater Success

A Watershed Stewards Academy Course for Property Managers and HOA Leaders
This course will:
  • Provide property managers and HOA officers with information and resources to help reduce pollution coming from their properties
  • Address key concerns including flooding, maintenance of stormwater management devices, reducing management costs
  • Explore ways to engage residents to reduce pollution from pet waste, litter and other sources
  • Consist of three in person sessions, three webinars and a toolbox of print and web-based resources
Who should attend?  Property Managers and HOA Representatives who live or work in Anne Arundel County.  
Format and Schedule:   
·        Session 1: Tuesday, November 20th 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (Classroom and Field) 
·        Session 2: Thursday, December 6th 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (in the Field) 
·        Session 3: Thursday, January 17th 9 a.m.-noon (Classroom)
