NEWS AND EVENTS

CELEBRATING BUSINESS GROWTH IN MADERA

Madera County continues to grow. Lunita's Boutique recently celebrated its grand opening, expanding from a home based business into a beautiful storefront.

76 Big Bear Market also officially opened its doors, bringing added convenience and new jobs to our community.

Plus, we’re excited to welcome MINISO, a new shop offering fun, affordable everyday goods for local shoppers.

We’re proud to support local employers as they grow and create opportunities across our region.

RAPID RESPONSE ORIENTATIONS

Following the layoff of 45 employees at Ardagh Group, the Business Services Division coordinated three Rapid Response orientation events at the Workforce Assistance Center to provide immediate support.

Partners provided information and guidance to assist affected employees with accessing unemployment insurance, re-employment opportunities, training services, and other support benefits available through the workforce system.

Rapid Response efforts aim to ensure that impacted workers receive timely information and direct connections to services that support rapid re-employment and career transition.

These efforts were recently highlighted by FOX26 News, further sharing available resources with the broader community.

MANUFACTURING JOB FAIR

In response to recent company closure announcements, our Business Services team will be hosting a job fair to support impacted individuals. Local employers will be in attendance to connect with skilled candidates and help them transition back into the workforce. The event will take place at the Workforce Assistance Center on Wednesday, March 11th starting at 1:00 PM.
