Performance Evaluations

It is time once again for the annual UK staff performance evaluation (PE) process. For our staff and supervisors alike, PE conversations offer meaningful opportunities to share feedback and ensure alignment between our individual efforts, department priorities and University goals.  Next steps, instructions and timeline The 2021 performance evaluations are now available in the online PE system for main/academic campus staff and supervisors. Note: If you experience difficulty accessing the PE system in Internet Explorer, it should work properly using the Chrome web browser.  The deadline for the completion of 2021 PEs is Friday, March 4. For new employees who started on or after October 1, evaluations are not required. However, supervisors may complete PEs for new employees if they wish to do so. Please note the following information and important deadlines This video provides step-by-step instructions for completing your self-evaluation. Though the self-evaluation is optional for some areas, all employees must submit the form (even if blank) to their supervisors through the online PE system to move the process forward. We understand performance evaluations can be a stressful process for some. We have a self evaluation toolkit to help you prepare. Supervisors, if you need to update major job responsibilities: View this guide on how to review your team's major job responsibilities.  This online guide explains how to request updates.  Update requests are due to HR Compensation by Thursday, December 23, to guarantee the changes appear in the 2021 PE.  It may be helpful when preparing your self-evaluation to review your past performance evaluations. We've extended the deadline this year to allow for more flexibility in completing this year's PE. Nominations open for Student Employee of the Year

Nominations for our annual Student Employee of the Year award are now open. Each year, we recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of UK students who also work at the university. In order to be considered, a student must: Currently be employed at UK (such as work-study or hourly). Have completed or expect to complete at minimum six months of part-time employment before April 2022. Be in a UK undergraduate degree program and enrolled at least half time for both the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters. Not be employees of the UK HR Student Employment Office. Nominations are due by April 1. Also this year, we plan to expand our appreciation of student employees in April. Dr. Robert Bullard, the Father of Environmental Justice to Speak at CCTS Spring Conference April 5

Encourage team members to use expiring vacation time

The university offered a one-time extension on the expiration of vacation time earned by campus employees during the 2019-20 fiscal year to March 31, 2022.   This is a reminder to employees to check for expiring vacation time. Using vacation time is an important aspect of maintaining work-life integration. Supervisors can set a positive example by using their accrued vacation as well as encouraging and supporting the team in their requests.   Vacation time for campus employees earned during the 2020-21 fiscal year will expire June 30, 2022, as normal.

Dr. Robert Bullard, the Father of Environmental Justice, to speak at the CCTS Spring Conference April 5 Dr. Bullard will have a book signing during lunch on April 5th in the Harris Ballroom, it starts around noon. Books will be available for purchase and for him to sign.   More information and registration is available on the Conference website.

UK Supply Center has PPE and So Much More The UK Supply Center currently has a significant supply of the following items available for departmental ordering: Lysol Spray and Wipes Face masks (KN95, disposable, and cloth) Wipes Nitrile gloves Hand sanitizer Sanitizer (Beam)

Departments can order needed items through the UK Supply Center online catalog available via their website. For more information or if you have any questions, contact the Supply Center at the contact information located on their website. Departments should consider utilizing the Supply Center for these items prior to sourcing them from a UK contracted vendor by entering a shopping cart/requisition. External suppliers should only be used after filling out an exception request and sending it to [email protected] for approval, before the purchase is made.
