Reimbursement of Travel Expenses

BPM E-5-1 Reimbursement of Travel Expenses has been revised to reflect an increase in the mileage rate from 62.5 cents per mile to 65.5 cents per mile. The change is effective January 1^st and can be found on the BPM webpage.

Employee Separations and Transfers

An employee voluntarily separating from employment or transferring to another unit are required to give and fulfill proper notice in order to leave in good standing. The notice period is two weeks for non-exempt, hourly employees and four weeks for exempt, salaried employees.

Please note that separating in good standing affects eligibility for future employment with the university and terminal vacation payouts. An employee who does not separate in good standing is not eligible for rehire in any capacity at the university and is not eligible for terminal vacation pay.

2022 Staff Performance Evaluations

Completion Deadline is March 3, 2023

The 2022 performance evaluations are now available in the online PE system for main/academic campus staff and supervisors. Note: If you experience difficulty accessing the PE system in Internet Explorer, it should work properly using the Chrome web browser.

The deadline for the completion of 2022 PEs is Friday, March 3, 2023. For new employees who started on or after October 1, evaluations are not required. However, supervisors may complete PEs for new employees if they wish to do so.

Please note the following information and important deadlines

This video provides step-by-step instructions for completing your self-evaluation.
Though the self-evaluation is optional for some areas, all employees must submit the form (even if blank) to their supervisors through the online PE system to move the process forward.

Update requests are due to HR Compensation by Friday, December 23, to guarantee the changes appear in the 2022 PE.
College of Medicine updates may be made through the Employee Service Specialist team.
It may be helpful when preparing your self-evaluation to review your past performance evaluations. To access previous PEs, follow this guide.

Deadline to submit updates of position descriptions to guarantee they are reflected in the 2022 PE.

Deadline for completing online performance evaluations.

Surplus Property – New Online Browsing Catalog

A new online browsing catalog is now available for departments to view available items for checkout and transfer from Surplus Property. Residing on the GovDeals.com website apart from public sale items, the catalog is available to departments to view a portion of items currently available from Surplus Property. The browsing catalog shows both common and unique available items with pictures and extended information. It is only available to University departments to view available items for transfer; these items are not available to the general public and are not for sale.

If departments are interested in selecting any item(s) for transfer to their department, please contact Surplus Property to physically view, reserve, or checkout items. To access the browsing catalog:

Go to the Purchasing website
Log in at the top right using your linkblue ID and password
Click the Surplus selection in the top menu
Select tile for Surplus Items Available for Departmental Transfer

The resultant page provides information on the various ways to view or request transfer of Surplus Property for your department including login information for the new online browsing catalog. There is no Shopping Cart or checkout functionality on the browsing catalog; contact Surplus Property to reserve or check out items of interest. There is no cost to transfer needed items; charges are applicable for any items requiring delivery.

Surplus Property – FAST Course Now Available in myUK

Learning

A new course, FAST Surplus Property, is now available to take on-demand in myUK Learning. The course overs various operational aspects of the Surplus Property Office including how departments can view and transfer available items for use within their departments. To take the course, simply access myUK Learning from the Employee Self-Service tab to reach the learning platform. Upon arrival, use the Find Learning search box at the top right with keyword phrase FAST Surplus. The course is approximately 30 minutes and of value to any staff or faculty interested in learning about Surplus Property operations and how to transfer items to your department.
