Message From Our President

Greetings, remarkable women entrepreneurs of NAWBO Chicago! Last month, I attended the NAWBO Women's Business Conference in Austin, Texas, and I'm bursting with inspiration and energy. The theme, "The Power to Dream," resonated deeply with me, as I believe that within our dreams lies the potential for us to thrive and flourish.

Thriving can take on diverse meanings for each of us; it hinges on our unique journeys, how we define success, and what we value most. So, the question that beckons is, how do we thrive while powering our dreams?

November Member Spotlight - Thrive

Thriving can mean different things to different women business owners depending on where they are in their life and business – how they define success, what things they value most, etc. What steps do you take to position yourself, your team and your business to thrive?

The steps that I take to position myself, my team and AndySunflower Café to thrive is first by continuing to offer our customers quality specialty beverages and other items. I position my team for success by meeting with them to create specific and measurable goals, which allows us to focus on micro successes. For example, a recent goal was to increase our sales per transaction by 20 percent. This goal was achieved by adding a breakfast menu, as well as our popular teas that are packaged as a take-home option for customers to prepare at their leisure. We will sit down again before the end of this quarter to map out the goals for the first quarter of the next year.
