May 2022 Newsletter
A Message From Our President
Spring has been a bit slow to come to Chicago this year. With more cloudy, cold and rainy days than sunny ones, I can’t help but hope – for my own mental health – that May brings more warmth, more clear skies and more May flowers!

We hosted our 39th Annual Celebration of Achievement conference this past month and, for the first time since 2019, the ceremony was in person! We are so grateful that well over 200 people were able to attend and the energy was amazing! Everybody seemed so happy to finally be together in the same room and we couldn’t believe how much fun we had!
Membership Spotlights: Nourish To Flourish
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and if any silver linings have come out of the prolonged pandemic, one is no doubt a heightened awareness around all the different elements of well-being. What have you done to nourish yourself while also keeping your business thriving?
The pandemic shifted how we look at mental health: Mental health IS physical health. From a business perspective, The Juniper Center transformed from bricks and mortar to telehealth.

As a business owner, leaning into grace and trust is critical. Without it, we hear all the judgements about how and what we need to do. We hear all the ways we have dropped the ball when our business isn't exactly where we want it to be. We hear all the ways things will go wrong.

What do you hope to contribute and what are your top priorities?

My top priority is to form the Wisconsin chapter so that women here will experience the strong support I felt and continue to feel from the Chicago chapter.
Thank You For Attending The Celebration Of Achievement!
The 39th Annual Celebration of Achievement Conference took place on April 29th, and it was wonderful to see so many members in-person! The positive energy and excitement was felt throughout the Hyatt Lodge.

Thank you to all of you who made the day possible. We could not produce such an exceptional, first-rate event without the dedication of our sponsors, speakers and exhibitors.

NAWBO Chicago is an amazing organization because of you, the members and supporters. Thank you for coming out and lifting us all up together.
