Home Buying Lottery Now Open

The City of Miramar acquired and renovated two homes under the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). The homes are available to income qualified households.

Sale of the homes will be conducted through a lottery process.

Enterprise Florida Launches
Virtual Business Matchmaking (VBM) Services

Enterprise Florida, the official economic development organization for the State of Florida, has launched the new Virtual Business Matchmaking (VBM) Service and an associated trade grant designed for Florida manufacturers/value-added professional service providers to sell products/services overseas. The VBM program, available in 21 countries, supports business diversification through exports and helps connect Florida businesses to international buyers, agents/distributors or joint-venture partners.

BCEx offers two accelerator options, geared for students and non-students looking to launch a business. The top accelerator program graduates earn the opportunity to pitch the J. David Armstrong Student Venture Fund for awards and eventually seed funding. The second BCEx accelerator option is Start Up Now, a six-month community accelerator open to all area residents. Also based on Lean Launchpad, Start Up Now is a partnership between BCEx and CareerSource Broward. If you’re one of the many, many Broward County residents who has already gotten their vaccine, you can be an ambassador for those that are vaccine hesitant. Share your experience with those who have not had the vaccine. If your family, friends and neighbors don’t have a personal health reason or physician’s recommendation NOT to take the vaccine, help educate them on the safety of the vaccine, and importance of achieving “herd immunity” so all our lives can return to normal. FEMA Announces Funeral Assistance Program
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many families. In response, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering a funeral assistance program to help eligible families with COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. Applications for assistance will be accepted beginning Monday, April 12, 2021, through FEMA's Call Center. Call 844-684-6333 (TTY 800-462-7585), from 8AM to 8PM Central Time.
