Executive Order 20-20 addresses who must wear facial coverings, and when and where they must be worn. It also limits hours for restaurants and food establishments. Specifically, no establishment will be permitted to serve alcohol or food for on-site consumption between the hours of Midnight and 5AM. Restaurants
  • Absent an applicable exception, all patrons must wear facial coverings except while seated at their assigned table. This means you must wear a facial covering when entering, exiting, or otherwise away from your assigned table, including when visiting the restroom. 
  • Staff must wear facial coverings during all in-person interactions with the public, and staff involved in the preparation or handling of food (including kitchen workers and servers) must wear facial coverings at all times while in the restaurant.
  • Your table must be no closer than six feet away from the nearest table, at their closest point.
  • Staff and patrons should sanitize their hands upon entering the establishment and regularly throughout their time at the establishment.
  • All high contact touchpoints (including door handles and tables) must be sanitized frequently and any equipment must be disinfected before each new customer use.
  • Even while wearing facial coverings, patrons must, wherever possible, maintain six feet of social distancing, including while waiting to be seated.


Retail 
  • Absent an applicable exception, all patrons must wear facial coverings, including while entering, exiting, or otherwise moving around an establishment. 
  • Staff must wear facial coverings during all in-person interactions with the public. 
  • Staff and patrons should sanitize their hands upon entering the establishment and regularly throughout their time at the establishment.
  • All touch points must be sanitized frequently and any equipment must be disinfected before each new customer use.
  • Even while wearing facial coverings, patrons must, wherever possible, maintain six feet of social distancing, including while waiting to transact any business at any establishment. 
If you suspect a business or person is violating these rules, you may report violations by calling 311 or contacting the municipality’s code enforcement authority.

The CDC recommends and Broward County Emergency Orders require residents and visitors, unless otherwise exempted, to wear a facial covering in public. The facial covering can be constructed of any material, but should utilize CDC guidelines. Please be sure to discard disposable face masks and gloves in garbage containers – these items are not recyclable.

Surtax Funded Projects Will Help Stimulate Local Economy

At the June 18th Broward County Commission meeting, the Board approved funding for FY2020 County Public Works projects in the amount of $24.5 million, and the very first cycle of municipal projects. The action allows for 97 municipal-requested capital projects in the amount of $65.7 million and 40 municipal-requested rehabilitation and maintenance projects in the amount of $55.5 million, for a total of $121.2 million in municipal projects.

These transportation surtax funded projects will help stimulate the local economy and mitigate impacts of COVID-19. This entails building a foundation through mobility advancement and the creation of direct, indirect and induced jobs.
