Broward County Issues Executive Order 20-28
Effective October 16, 2020
On October 16, Broward County issued Emergency Order 20-28 extending on-premise consumption of food and alcohol by one hour, until midnight, for all establishments in Broward County. Emergency Order 20-28 prohibits dine-in service between 12AM and 5AM, and alcohol consumption in open containers or to-go cups remains prohibited in public spaces such as beaches, beach boardwalks, parks, streets, parking lots and other areas identified in the order. Take-out and food delivery is still permitted.

Social distancing and facial covering requirements, restaurant capacity limits and sanitation and safety requirements to prevent the spread of COVID-19 remain in effect.

Small Business Grant Funds Soon Available
Broward County Commission is establishing a grant program using CARES Act funds for small businesses and non-profits in Broward to help mitigate the impacts of COVID-19. The application period will open soon. The purpose of the Grant is to aid small businesses that employ 20 people or less. Grants to small businesses under the program will be used to reimburse the costs of business interruption related expenditures caused by COVID-19's required closures and/or operating restrictions. The County will be offering free technical assistance from Broward County-identified partners to assist businesses in understanding the eligibility criteria and required documents necessary to prepare applications. Property Tax Bills Arriving Soon
Property tax bills for 2020 will be mailed by November 1, 2020 along with information on how to pay. Residents are reminded that if their escrow company requests their tax bill, the Tax Collector will send a courtesy copy of the bill in mid-November. All property tax bills are posted to the Broward County Records, Taxes and Treasury website on November 1, 2020.

Positivity rates shown below are based on Broward County and Florida State numbers for testing, which include all positive and negative testing results. There are instances where media outlets publicize only Florida resident positivity rates, which can be misleading as this only highlights a segment of the number of persons tested. There are non-resident positive cases that may include those individuals who spend the winter here, students who may attend school here but their permanent address is elsewhere, are here on a work visa or who simply never remembered to change their ID to their current Florida address. The charts below include the entirety of the population tested, to include the aforementioned individuals.
