The Southern Opportunity and Resilience (SOAR) Fund

The Southern Opportunity and Resilience (SOAR) Fund a program getting small businesses and nonprofits across the South affordable capital and critical business support at a time when they need it the most.

The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated an already uneven recovery coming out of the Great Recession. Southern states had slower economic growth, lower labor force participation, and higher unemployment than the rest of the country, partially driven by the historic lack of corporate, bank, and philanthropic investment in the region.

The SOAR Fund tackles these issues head-on by providing capital to southern small businesses and nonprofits that need it now.

Nonprofits and small business owners with fewer than 50 full-time employees can apply now for very low-interest loans of up to $100,000 and free business support.

Be a Vaccine Ambassador

If you’re one of the many, many Broward County residents who has already gotten their vaccine, you can be an ambassador for those that are vaccine hesitant. Share your experience with those who have not had the vaccine. If your family, friends and neighbors don’t have a personal health reason or physician’s recommendation NOT to take the vaccine, help educate them on the safety of the vaccine, and importance of achieving “herd immunity” so all our lives can return to normal. Here are some materials that may be helpful:
