The Southern Opportunity and Resilience (SOAR) Fund

The Southern Opportunity and Resilience (SOAR) Fund a program getting small businesses and nonprofits across the South affordable capital and critical business support at a time when they need it the most.

The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated an already uneven recovery coming out of the Great Recession. Southern states had slower economic growth, lower labor force participation, and higher unemployment than the rest of the country, partially driven by the historic lack of corporate, bank, and philanthropic investment in the region.

The SOAR Fund tackles these issues head-on by providing capital to southern small businesses and nonprofits that need it now.

Nonprofits and small business owners with fewer than 50 full-time employees can apply now for very low-interest loans of up to $100,000 and free business support.

Restaurant Revitalization Fund

The American Rescue Plan Act established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) to provide funding to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – More than half of Broward County’s population eligible for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine (age 16+) is on the path to returning to normal. Since beginning vaccinations on January 3, 2021, Broward County has gone from supporting two public vaccination sites to 10 in a continued effort to make vaccines more geographically accessible to all communities.
Broward County has been able to successfully administer at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine to 829,000 people and has completed the series for 575,000 people. This means that Broward has achieved an adult vaccination rate for at least one shot of approximately 53%.
Unfortunately, vaccination rates have slowed dramatically. It is urgent that everyone get vaccinated immediately to protect themselves, their friends, family, and community. More…
Be a Vaccine Ambassador

Share your experience with those who have not had the vaccine. If your family, friends and neighbors don’t have a personal health reason or physician’s recommendation NOT to take the vaccine, help educate them on the safety of the vaccine, and importance of achieving “herd immunity” so all our lives can return to normal. Here are some materials that may be helpful:
