Business Spotlight: GNBank
GNBank first opened in 1918 as a bank for coal miners in Girard, Kansas. Over the last 100 years, the bank has grown substantially, opening 15 branch locations all across Kansas and into the Eastern part of Colorado. The Clay Center Branch opened in 1998 and was formerly known as Clay County National Bank. In 2018, all 15 branches joined under one name and brand, GNBank.

Brett Hubka, the current Community Bank President, moved to Clay Center in 2014. He started as an Ag/Commercial Loan Officer. Over the past 8 years he has worked his way up to Bank President, with the help of some great mentors. Brett says he enjoys working at a community bank and likes that their customers are more than just a number. He also loves how community minded our community is, where businesses support other businesses.

GNBank is a full service bank where they strive to be the bank of choice. They offer all types of loans, checking and savings accounts, fixed rate lines of credit, mobile deposit, online banking, ect .One new piece of technology that their customers have been enjoying is eSign. eSign allows them to e-mail loan documents to customers so they are able to sign on their phone, tablet, or computer. “What makes our bank special are the people,” Hubka says. The Clay Center branch currently has 9 full time employees and 3 part time high school tellers. GNBank is currently working on a new website so be on the lookout for that by the end of the year!

The featured group for the evening will be the Little Apple Men’s Barbershop Chorus from Manhattan. Director of the group is long-time Clay Center high school vocal music instructor Ken Lang.
