Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre
Marion Council is seeking Federal Government funding to build a bigger and better Mitchell Park Sports and Community Club.

On 12 February 2019, the Council re-committed up to $10 million towards the cost of redeveloping this popular but old facility and are now seeking  an extra $5 to $10 million to make the centre a larger sports club and community centre.

The federal election is the perfect time to seek the extra funding.  A larger sports club would contain:
  • An indoor stadium to meet the demand for basketball, netball and other indoor-based recreation.
  • Facilities for football, tennis and cricket
  • A gym, change rooms, kiosk and expanded car parking.
  • Two-storey building with function spaces
  • A neighbourhood centre delivering a range of community programs.
  • There will also be facilities for the dog club.
An expanded centre would create jobs and local business opportunities while providing a home for up to 1000 players of various sporting codes.

How you can help?  Your support is vital to winning federal funding for Mitchell Park Sports and Community Club and you are invited to attend a public rally this Sunday, 7 April at 11am at  Mitchell Park Sports and Community Club, Bradley Grove at Mitchell Park.
