January 2020

Welcome to January's Business Talk

Welcome to the first edition of Business Talk for 2020.  The City Activation team are back on board and feeling well rested for a busy 2020!

The New Year period is always a great time to reflect with many of us making resolutions for personal improvements. Why not make resolutions for your business also? Our  Southern Business Mentoring Program advisors can assist with your new year's business resolutions whether they be to update your business and marketing plans, or to improve your online presence. Or maybe your resolution is to find a grant to support a project. Check out the City of Marion's new Funding Finder where you can register for grant updates that can help your business thrive.

Finally, with the terrible devastation of the fires across the country, it is a timely reminder how important it is to have an emergency management plan.  The South Australian Government provides a great tool to help develop an emergency plan so your business is protected.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with the team; we look forward to helping your business grow in 2020.

Faces of Edwardstown
We are celebrating the diversity of the Edwardstown Employment Precinct and will showcase a business each month via Making Marion. This month our feature is Kytons Bakery.

Kytons Bakery has been a part of the South Australian community for over 80 years and has been a part of the City of Marion Council since it moved to its current premises in Edwardstown in 2003.

Kytons has been synonymous with helping the SA community for decades - with its lamington and other fundraising drives. Community lamington drives started back in the 1980s and fundraising drives continue to be an important part of Kytons today. "Each year we help hundreds of community, school, social and sporting groups raise tens of thousands of dollars for their groups" says Sharon Sutton.  Continue reading...
