Business advisor helps kickstart business

When Shondra was diagnosed with a health condition, she came to realise that there were a lot of people that were limited from eating out due to their food allergies.

Shondra met with the Southern Adelaide Business Advisory Service for a free one-on-one consultation, and from this,  Good. Food. Choices  was born. Good. Food. Choices now provides a one stop shop for great tasting healthy food to meet health requirements and without the distraction of the high fat and high sugar options. The Southern Adelaide Business Advisory Service provides free consultations for those, like Shondra, wanting to start their own business.

Discover the eight key things you need to set up your business for a better future with the next SABAS Discovery Session -
Tuesday 5 June, 10.00am @ Cove Civic Centre.

Circular Economy in Marion
With China's recent ban on imported recyclable materials, people are finding innovative ways to create new businesses from waste.

In the City of Marion, there is no change to the way we recycle however  there is now a greater importance on the Circular Economy within Australia. A Circular Economy is an alternative to the wasteful traditional 'linear' economy based on 'take, make, use and dispose'. It is a self-sustaining system driven by renewable energy with an imperative to keep material resources in use, or 'circulating' for as long as possible.

In Fremantle,  Life Cykel turn waste into local food, reduce carbon emissions and support small business. Life Cykel  collect coffee ground waste from the local coffee shops and use it to grow organic mushrooms at Australia's first urban mushroom farm. The mushrooms are then sold back at the local markets and to restaurants and cafes.

What is your business doing with your waste? Do you have too much waste that someone else could use? Or are you using recyclable products in an innovative way? We'd love to hear good news stories of how you are recycling your waste - get in touch.
