TRUST THE EXPERIENCED BURGESS TEAM
TO BE
YOUR STRATEGIC PARTNER

Virtually every business in Maine has been affected by the coronavirus, and we’ve had the opportunity to work with clients facing the full range of impacts. As one of the most experienced teams in Maine—with nearly 180 years combined in the business—we’ve also guided clients through challenging times before.
Meredith, in addition, has long been on the front lines of public policy, as a three-term State Legislator, and now as a member of the Governor’s Economic Recovery Committee, which is working to bring Maine’s economy back after the pandemic (see more at right).
The world will be different when we fully emerge from the COVID-19 crisis. Now is the time to explore strategies that will enable your brand and your business to take advantage of the disruption, and flourish. Call Meredith Strang Burgess, our CEO, to discuss how we can help, using all the tools at our disposal: digital and traditional advertising, public relations, upgrading your website, and more.

We’ve just completed a makeover for the former Maine Lakes Society, with a more concise name, a dynamic new logo, and a website as cool and fresh as the 100+ local lake associations Maine Lakes represents. Visit the new URL,

Since last fall, we’ve had the pleasure of working with R.M. Davis, the region’s largest wealth management firm. Its Maine offices are located in the iconic H.H. Hay “flatiron” building near Monument Square (24 City Center, at the corner of Free & Cross Stress) in downtown Portland. To take advantage of this highly visible location, we recently designed
three window panels
that tell the fascinating history of the building. Add it to your list of historic Portland landmarks to show visitors!

After winning two creative awards in the past few weeks, we want to salute the man behind the work: Roy Jenkins, an amateur boatbuilder in Wiscasset. Six years after being diagnosed with lung cancer, Roy is very much alive and building a 27' cruiser—his biggest boat ever—thanks to the innovative immunotherapy treatment provided by our client,
New England Cancer Specialists (NECS).
Our TV spot
featuring Roy's story won a Telly Award, while the multimedia campaign (including print, social media and digital ads in addition to TV) won a Silver Communicator Award for a business-to-consumer campaign.
We thank our amazing team at NECS for identifying Roy as a subject—and for the world-class care close to home they provide every day to help Maine cancer patients achieve their best outcome.

Dear Clients & Friends,
In May, I was honored to be named to the Governor’s Economic Recovery Committee, assigned to the subcommittee responsible for the most challenged business sectors, Hospitality, Tourism, and Retail.
Our task is to develop specific policy recommendations to stabilize the state’s economy and build a bridge to future prosperity in the wake of the COVID-10 pandemic. Our initial report is due July 15, 2020 with a final report due on December 1, 2020. In the meantime, we are meeting frequently to stabilize and support our sectors. I encourage you to
follow our progress
and
share your ideas.

THE VIRTUAL TRI
At this time of year, I am usually getting ready for the annual Tri for a Cure, but that, too, will now be a virtual event. We will miss the energy and inspiration of being physically together, but are excited that women of all ages, from all over the world will be able to participate this year.
During August, women will complete their own Tri in their own way—including the most important part: fundraising to cover vital support programs for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. It is critical that we TRI to reach our $2 million goal, which will, as always, stay 100% in Maine. For more information or to donate, please go to:
TriForACure.org.

In the meantime, we look forward to meeting the strategic and creative challenges of successfully marketing your brand during this unusual time.
Stay safe and be well!
