75 Years Celebrated in Style!

Members and guests of the Zebulon Chamber of Commerce gathered at East Wake Academy on March 23rd to celebrate the 75-year anniversary of Zebulon Chamber.
The history of the Chamber was presented by MaryBeth Carpenter of Preservation Zebulon and family members of the founding Chamber Board were recognized for their families' contributions to the Chamber and community. Additionally, plans for the future of the Chamber were presented including Board and program expansion. The theme looking forward -- Be Part of Something Bigger: Connect_Collaborate_For Community_For Commerce.
Among other community and business awards, The William E. Parrish Citizen of the Year Award was presented.

Mrs. Peggy Lee Wilder
2023 William E. Parrish Citizen of the Year
Mrs. Wilder was an exceptional role model and actively worked for the the betterment of Zebulon.
|
|
Mayor Glenn York presented the William E. Parrish Citizen of the Year Award posthumously to Peggy Lee Wilder. Receiving the award were her husband, Barna Wilder, and son, Osbone Wilder (pictured) and daughter, Barnanne Creech, and son-in-law, Rodney Creech.

|
|
In commemoration of Zebulon Chamber's 75th anniversary, Trey Lewis, Northeast Regional Representative from the Office of Sen. Thom Tillis presented an American flag that flew over the Capitol in Washington, DC., on the Senator's behalf. Receiving the flag were Jennifer Williams, Chamber Board Chair, and John Saffold, Executive Director.

Cara Beth Erickson, a rising senior at East Wake Academy, was awarded the LWP Emerging Designer Scholarship presented by Design Dimension, Inc. Betsy Rascoe, President, and Hunter Rascoe, VP, of Design Dimension, Inc. are pictured here with Ms. Erickson. The scholarship provides full tuition for Ms. Erickson to attend the High School Explorations Residential Design Camp at NC State.

GSK of Zebulon was recognized for for its faithful support of Zebulon Chamber and our community over the decades. From providing funding for our the Chamber's beautiful facility to support for the 2022 Zebulon Christmas Parade, GSK has demonstrated faithful community partnerships. Here, Chamber Board Chair Jennifer Williams presented GSK VP & Site Lead Laurie Braxton a token of gratitude.

During the Zebulon Chamber’s 75th Anniversary Luncheon, Jennifer Williams, Chamber Board Chair, presented the Most Influential Business Award to Brandon McCraney from Olde Raleigh Distillery.
Brandon and his team have worked tirelessly to bring the town together to build a better community.

Calling all local businesses! Share the passion for your career with students at Zebulon GT Magnet Middle School. The 700+ students will come to the gym in 3 different waves to visit each table and business/business professionals. Students will use their power greeting to practice speaking and presenting themselves to a business professional to learn about a wide range of careers. Hosted by Barnanne Creech on Tuesday, May 9th from 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM in the school gymnasium.
