Busted Knuckle Brewery celebrates Ground Breaking

Williston Economic Development -  Busted Knuckle Brewery celebrated the ground breaking at its new location at 213 11th Street West on Tuesday, October 29.  The Glasgow-based brewery is owned by Ben and Connie Boreson and their children Jake Boreson and Emma Kuester. Read More
New Pit #105 to open in Busted Knuckle Brewery
Williston Economic Development - Caleb and Micki Hinricksen will open a BBQ restaurant, Pit #105, at Busted Knuckle Brewery. The couple were a part of the ground breaking ceremony held on October 29 for the craft brewery. The Pit will feature a variety of BBQ selections. The kitchen will be located on the north side of the building.
Everson- Coughlin Crematory celebrates Grand Opening; Cremation Rates climb
Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home celebrates the grand opening of its  new crematory. 
KUMV-TV - Wi lliston's first crematory is open for business.  Seth Coughlin, one of the owners of the Everson Coughlin Funeral Home, said they offer pet and human services. He said families prefer it over the traditional method. "I've been in the business now for about 20 years, and when I first came back to Williston, we were running about a 15 percent cremation-rate. I'd say that rate is closer to about 50 percent now, and it's climbing."  Read More

State Auditor to retract City of Williston Audit Report
Williston Economic Development -  The City of Williston has released an official response to the recent audit released by the North Dakota Office of the State Auditor, saying they were not provided adequate response time.  "I was surprised and disappointed to see the release of the Annual 2018 Fiscal Year audit yesterday with findings of concerns from State Auditor Josh Gallion," said David Tuan, City Administrator. Read More  KUMV-TV - State Auditor retracts Williston Audit Report

Two years ago, Melissa Krause opened QuickDraw Art Studio, one of a number of women-owned businesses in downtown Williston, North Dakota.

Busloads of oil workers who'd moved here to work on Bakken oil rigs revived by hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, would clear supermarket shelves in minutes. In late 2014, the price of oil dropped by half, prompting most transient, single male workers to pack up and leave. Read More
Wolf Pup Preschool opens in Watford City
The preschool is located in the former post office. It can accommodate up to 74 children.

Tioga's Neset named Chairwoman of North Dakota Petroleum Council
Tioga Tribune - Tioga geologist Kathy Neset recently ascended to the North Dakota Petroleum Council's top job. The new chairwoman wasn't taken by surprise at the September annual conference. She has served as the vice chair for the past two years. Tioga Tribune website
