Another Busy Week

At Southern Wake!

There's always a wide variety of activities taking place at our school. Here's a sample of what we've been up to in the past week!

Key Club held its first organizational meeting on Wednesday and had an encouraging turnout!

Photographers were on campus to get pictures of our winter sports athletes. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at this activity.

Malak, our Student Body President, mentored middle school student council members on assisting with morning announcements.

Finally, a BIG THANK YOU to the SWA Athletics Booster Club, who partnered with the school to purchase and mount new monitors in the gym lobby. With these screens, we will be able to share announcements, team schedules, business partners, and so much more!

MID-YEAR UNIFORM SWAP

Check your student's closet and plan to join us later today! The PTO Uniform Swap Committee will be holding a Mid-year Uniform Swap in the MPR on January 23rd from 3pm until halftime of the Men’s Varsity basketball game. Great opportunity to attend the uniform swap AND the JV, Women’s and Men’s games!

Clean (ready to hang for sale) current logo tops & outerwear will be accepted for credit at the swap. Spirit wear and bottoms in good condition can be donated as well (no credit).

DRESS DOWN DAY

PTO will be having a $2 Dress Down Day on January 30th for high school and middle school students! Wristbands will be available for purchase during Friday morning’s carpool.

(*Students, we love seeing your enthusiasm and personal style during our themed dress-down days! Please remember that all outfits must still follow key uniform guidelines. Make sure your footwear meets our uniform policy, and remember that midriffs, spaghetti straps, pajama pants, and leggings are not permitted. Thank you for helping us keep dress-down days fun and appropriate for everyone!)

 NEXT PTO MEETING

Thursday, February 5 at 7pm, Room 4203

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY CLEANUP -- SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY 1/24

Due to the uncertainty of winter weather this weekend, please continue to monitor the PTO Facebook page for any weather-related changes for this event.

SWA is thrilled to announce the launch of our monthly TAKING FLIGHT Snack Carts, a fun and meaningful way to celebrate our teachers and staff!

Each month, student volunteers will decorate a themed snack cart and help deliver snacks to teachers and staff. Snacks will be donated by families through this SignUpGenius link.

Participation in this program counts toward both parent and student volunteer hours. In addition, each $12.50 spent toward snack donations will count as one hour of parent volunteer time.

Thank you for your support in making this special project a success for our entire school community!
