The Conversation Continues this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

YOU are invited to join Zion leaders as we participate in this conversation aimed at bringing progress and meeting the needs of the Deerfield Beach community.

Join parents, educators, advocates, and officials for the ongoing Community Cares Conversation as they continue to discuss the strengths, weaknesses, and needs of the Deerfield Beach community. The last meeting focused on the mental and emotional health of teachers and students in local schools; so, if this is a particular passion of yours, you'll want to be present.
Join us this Sunday for ice cream and helping the community!

The word is out! Thanks to the City of Deerfield Beach, news of our Sundae Sunday has spread throughout the community. You'll want to be there for ice cream, doing good for the neighborhood, and even a few rounds of "Name That Hymn" led by Pastor Potter!

We will be collecting food, health, and activity items through 4th of July weekend to replenish the pantries at the Center for Active Aging, the regional senior center based here in Deerfield Beach.

In lieu of a donation for ice cream, we ask you to bring some of these items or a monetary contribution so we can do the shopping for you.

Who's going to volunteer?

Juneteenth is coming! We need volunteers to set up (prior to 1:00 p.m.), to staff Zion's table during the event, and to clean up (after 7:00 p.m.). Cantor Kurt Schmidt will have a sign-up sheet on Sunday. If you expressed interest in the Hospitality, Outreach, or Social Ministry areas of ministry at Zion, this is your opportunity to say "YES! I'm willing to help!"

The details: The African American Heritage Board along with the City of Deerfield Beach is hosting their Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration event on Saturday, June 19th from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be a Black History Mobile Museum, rib competition, live art/entertainment, and much more! Zion will be participating as a community organization hosting a booth with our signature "Prayer Wall" and children's games.
Annual Meeting Announcement

It's time to celebrate where we've been and where we are, and pray for God's guidance as we look ahead to the future. Our Annual Meeting will include an update on ongoing negotiations and rehabilitation of our property, the presentation of an annual report, the election of council members, and the approval of a budget for 2021-2022. If you are a voting member of Zion, you'll want to be present at this meeting. Official notice will be forthcoming via US Mail and our website and will include the Zoom login information.
Songs of God's Protection

What is your "jam" this week: "A Mighty Fortress" or "Whom Shall I Fear?" Both remind us of God's protection, so they're both winners!

Vote for your favorite on Facebook this week, and listen in worship for the hymn not continuing in the bracket.
