More graduates from God Cares High School enter Higher Education

Recently we have heard of the milestones of many God Cares High School graduates who just completed their studies at their Universities or institutions of higher learning. We have had four students recently graduate from Livingstone University, seven from Africa Renewal University, and seven more will soon graduate from the YMCA Comprehensive Institute.

Africa Renewal University now educates twenty-three students, YMCA Comprehensive Institute with ten, Kampala University at five, and there are other students who have committed to various other schools such as Makerere University, the International College of Agricultural Sciences, Nile Vocational School, Masaka School of Nursing and more. There are a whopping seventy-one students currently in university or trade schools!

No matter which school, Buyamba is committed to helping these students reach for their full potential.

Coming Soon - Buyamba's 4th Annual Photo Contest!

The photo contest begins October 1.

You can submit your photo(s) online via Facebook or through our website until October 15. Voting begins October 16 and ends October 20, and will be held on Facebook. The photo with the most 'likes" will be announced on October 21, and the winner will receive their photo on a canvas print.

We are on the lookout for compelling photos to share with others who do not know about the amazing children in Uganda that God is blessing us with the opportunity to help.
Here is the lens - we are looking for pictures of Ugandan people. God Cares students, children you visit in the villages or other areas you would visit when on a mission trip to Uganda (without the Muzungus). In other words, save the team photos for home and send us the Ugandan kids photos!

We can't wait to see which photos will be submitted this year!

Last years winning photo was taken by Amanda Bomar.

Meet Ian...

Ian was born and raised in the village of Kyetume, Uganda, with his two younger sisters and one younger brother. Since 2008, when Ian's father passed away, his mom has been the sole supporter of the family, and Ian became the oldest man of the house. The chances of receiving a good education were slipping away until he enrolled in the Buyamba program and gained a sponsor in 2009. At that time he was able to attend (and eventually graduate from) God Cares High School.

Looking back...

When Ian was 15 years old he was prompted by Buyamba President, David Dimas, to write down one question you would ask God and have it answered. Ian wrote on a scratch piece of paper, this one question,

"What was written in my life as my ministry to do on earth?"

Today, Ian is 22 years old and he was just accepted into Kampala International University where he will be studying for a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery. With this degree, he will be empowered to impact Uganda in a unique way for Christ.

Ian, we believe this may just be your answer.
