Platoon 22
Platoon 22 is a nonprofit, veteran-focused service organization committed to ending veteran suicide through the fostering of meaningful connections and comprehensive support. They provide care coordination, transportation services, relief/resiliency assistance, recreational opportunities, and peer support. Through a partnership with Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Walley, they have the Platoon Veteran Services Center at Goodwill.
When one of their clients, a Washington County resident, needed vehicle repairs, they jumped into action. Unfortunately, the cost of the repairs exceeded what they could afford. They asked for assistance in ensuring this local veteran regained the mobility and independence necessary to attend medical appointments, secure employment, and manage daily tasks. Funding through the Live United Urgent Needs for $1921.66 helped ensure that this veteran could manage their health, go to work, and keep up with their daily responsibilities without further disruption to their life.

Lasting Change Recovery Solutions for Women
Lasting Change operates three transitional sober living apartments that provide a safe, supportive environment for women in recovery from substance use. These apartments are crucial in helping the ladies at Lasting Change to rebuild their lives, maintain sobriety, and reintegrate into the community.
Two of their current water heating systems deteriorated, resulting in unpleasant and potentially harmful water quality. This was disruptive to daily activities and posed potential health risks. The timely and crucial support from the Live United Urgent Needs grant of $2000,00 allowed Lasting Change to replace both systems, ensuring a clean and reliable hot water supply. This was a vital investment in their client's health, safety, and success.
