Don't Tell me it is December already!
I just got used to writing "2012" on my checks.
After the busiest summer and fall I've ever had, I am actually seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as December rolls in.   This weekend, Dec. 1 -2, is the Carroll County Artists' Studios Tour in which I am participating.  I go all year actively messing up my studio, then in a day or two make it very clean, orderly, and presentable. Yesterday and today I blitzed the studio, refolded and counted 1,000 shirts, cleared and wiped surfaces, and discovered tools I thought I lost months ago.  I even made two big batches of cookies to share.
Here are some tips for how to get the most out of an Artists' Studios Tour.  Click here for How to Enjoy a Studio Tour.

OFF the Easel...

Last month I showed you the completed 12-panel mural for

Dean Robert Camlin Architect & Associates  of Westminster, MD.  Here's a photo of John and me hanging it.  It actually hangs perfectly even and square!

I promised photos of the Rya Rug I created for a Los Angeles Artist this Fall

You've been so patient.  Now that the rug has been "unveiled" at an Austin, TX gallery, I can show you the project.    It was designed by artist, Francesca Gabbiani.  I taught her via Skype and mail how to graph a design, then I worked with her inner design as I created the color gradations as the base.  Here is a little video of how the progression went.  You won't want to miss this.  Click here to see 37-second progress video.

Other Projects and Events of Recent Past:

I completed a little forest of wine glasses for a custom order:

I inventoried all of my rya rug yarn.  Here are the colors I have on hand.  I sell them through my etsy shop--click here to see.

Rya rug yarn still available

I had two awesome shows in November:  The Mistletoe Mart and AVAM's BazaArt.  Both were incredibly wonderful.  Special thanks to my good friend, Sara Robbins-Page of Heavens to Bessie fame for her custom-designed jewelry, for helping all day at BazaArt as I used my new "Square" device to accept charge cards

And Finally, we wind down towards a new year.

I am looking forward  to the new year.  I love that feeling of turning to a new page, fresh and clean.  I have a half dozen project commitments, so I know my hands will be full in the coming months.  I still have time to provide you with custom made gifts--on the small side, like handpainted glasses, hand-printed floorcloth requests for Christmas gifts at this point, please!  ;-)

Life is good.  I wish you a stressless holiday season.  Thanks to all of you who have been supportive of my "art habit" over the past year.  I'm going to keep doing it, I think.

Thanks for your interest.

I love getting your comments and feedback!

Merry Christmas,

Happy Hanukkah,

Happy Kwanzaa,

 and Peace on Earth
