Hi - I'm Kelly!

As you may know, last year's committee has stepped down after many years of service to netball in Byron Bay.  Somehow or another, I have stepped into the role of Club President!  I don't know many Byron Bay players, having only been involved with the netball community in the area for 1 season.

However,I have run netball clubs for many a year so I felt excited to be able to do what I love locally to my new home!

Nichole Paige and I have made some great progress - establishing  the website, Facebook group, new 'year round' initiatives for NetSetGO and taken on board the feedback I've been getting in my calls to members from last year (I'm about half way through - if you've not heard from me yet, you will!).

We are now submitting a weekly netball news column  to the Byron Shire News paper for their Sport Section, and the Association is now paying umpires on Saturdays.  We have a new major sponsor (more on that later), made initial but promising contact with the local primary schools, and plenty more is in the pipeline.  Im basically chasing down any leads that come my way for finding new players, umpires, coaches, and community support that is out there.

We hope members (thats YOU) find these new initiatives exciting and engaging!

What I'd love at this point is to work with some other committed parents / members who can assist by forming a small committee.  I'm pretty handy at running sporting organisations, but I don't  know any of you yet - so its that local knowledge, networking and opinion piece that would  really make all the difference in connecting the dots for a successful season.

If you have the capacity to work on this with me, I'd be beyond delighted to hear from you.  And if you can't find time for the committee, please forgive me in advance if things don't go quite as smoothly as you'd like.  There will be some teething issues, I'm sure.  We will get through it, I promise!

In closing, thank you and I look forward to meeting everyone this year.

Best regards,

Kelly West
