WORD FROM WASHINGTON
Bob Okun
Chairman and CEO
The O Team
We continue to keep an eye on potential restrictions for pharmaceutical companies as part of an appropriation bill under consideration in the Senate. We urge Sen McConnell and Sen Paul to help the Senate pass the Music Modernization Act, S2823. Any action by the FCC or Congress to modify usage of the C-Band strip of satellite spectrum utilized by our stations to deliver content must protect existing users and viewers.
PRESIDENT'S COLUMN
POSSIBLE C-BAND REGISTRATION REIMBURSEMENT
Chris Winkle
KBA President/CEO
@kbachris
As you have likely heard, radio and television stations must register their C-Band earth stations with the FCC by October 17th, or they may not receive interference protection from new 5-G broadband services that will be sharing the band. We’ve discovered that SES, who wants to use the C-Band for 5G, is not only encouraging stations to register their earth stations, but offering a reimbursement for the costs of registration. However, it’s important to note that there are limitations to the reimbursement. So please read carefully!  Click here for more details . Please let me know if you have any further questions and we will attempt to solve them together.

Many managers dread having the performance discussion with their lowest performer. But low performance doesn’t necessarily mean your employee isn’t cut out for the work or is unmotivated. Hidden in many under-performers the heart and desire for performance greatness.

Learn to:
• Find what’s really keeping them from achieving
• Develop a coaching relationship and end the parent-child dynamic
