Second Avenue
One of the first completed buildings since the opening of the Second Avenue Subway, C+GA's Second Avenue Apartments provides spacious homes for lower income residents of Yorkville. In a neighborhood transforming from an  the influx of new development and the proximity to the subway, the Second Avenue Apartments provide local amenities while preserving diversity for the community. The six and  eleven story mixed-use development features twenty-eight affordable rental units above a community facility and commercial space along the avenue.

Third Avenue and Little Scholars

C+GA recently completed this innovative eight-story, mixed-use development, with thirty rental housing units and an Early Development Center. Designed to obtain both Passive House and LEED Platinum certification, it will be the first Passive House building in the Bronx. This high-performance building offers amenities for residents that are crucial to developing social resilience and cohesion for its community.  
Children's Aid

C+GA has been working with the Children's Aid on their recently completed Boston Road counseling and office facility in the Bronx, and we are currently designing the renovation of the Frederick Douglass Children's Center in Manhattan to create a welcoming and secure space for children to play and learn within a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) campus. 

Construction Updates

Lexington Gardens II in East Harlem (Left) and Story Avenue Development in the Bronx (Right) are two of several C+GA projects making strides through construction. Other projects include Morris II Passive House Apartments, TEP Charter School, 156th Street Development and Charter School, and the Passive House Beach Green Dunes Phase II.

C+GA staff participated at the 5th annual Day of Impact hosted by the Open Architecture Collaborative in October, working with Partnerships for Parks to care for Behagen Park in the Bronx.

Partner Mark Ginsberg presented at a special Archtober event hosted by New York Passive House and BuildingEnergy Exchange on Large Multifamily Passive House Buildings in NYC. 

Mark spoke at the Greenbuild International Conference in Chicago this month on Climate Adaptive Design with Laurie Schoeman of Enterprise Community Partners. 

Mark and Associate Crystal Ng also presented Different Systems of Multifamily Passive House from Design to Operation at the BuildingEnergy NYC Conference in October. 

C+GA is participating as a Mentor in rise in the city, an international architecture competition to design affordable and sustainable housing solutions in Africa.
