2017 Holiday Card Winner

Hanah Bautista (center) was recognized by CHS Principal Shade Boulware, and CISD Superintendent Dr. Diane Frost, as the winner of the 2017 CISD Holiday Card contest. Her detailed illustration depicts several holiday scenes colorfully illustrated in a collage.  Bautista was recognized with a framed card featuring her artwork, flowers and a gift card.  This is the third time for Bautista to win the competition. Congratulations, Hanah! 
Corsicana Education Foundation - GRANT PATROL!
The Corsicana Education Foundation awarded over $19,000 during it's fal l mini-grant cycle on Nov. 13.  Visit www.corsicanaef.org to view grants awarded.  Spring grant applications will be available in January!

'Tis the Season
CHS students and staff participated in the holiday parade Saturday evening, winning the Education category for having the most participation.

Corsicana High School students and band helped with the  
Salvation Army Kettle Kick-off and Re-Grand Opening of Walmart.
Novel Study to Movie Screening
 Ms. Stearman & Mr. Sowell's fourth grade classes at Bowie Elementary viewed Wonder this week at Shulman's Movie Bowl and Grill.    
The students enjoyed seeing the movie after their novel study.  

Trailor Build-Off Time!

Corsicana FFA students participated in the Lindale trailor build-off competition. A student team, consisting of four builders plus one cook, built a trailor and competed in a cooking contest within six hours. Dylan White, Jack Blanton, Triston Rash, Kinden Townsend, and Keily Thompson. Teaching teamwork, fabrication, and employability skills.

Students at Sam Houston were greeted by Santa on the way into school. What a great way to start their day!

Taking Care of Corsicana

These CHS students were part of an amazing day! They were invited by our local CPS office to make the "adoption day" for several children even more special! This is what TCC is all about! 
CHS Volleyball Banquet

 The Lady Tiger Volleyball teams had a wonderful evening celebrating their seasons at the Corsicana Country Club.

Party Time!
The Big Kahuna company rewarded the top fundraising kids at Fannin Elementary with a party bus ride to Cici's. Students and staff had a great time dancing and singing in their seats. Thank you to the Fannin families  
for helping to raise money for our students and school!

CHS Young Entrepeneurs
Corsicana High School students learned real-life entrepreneurship through a hands-on field trip to local bakery, Collin Street Bakery.

High Five Friday with UCO BRONCHOS!
The University of Central Oklahoma football team greeted our students on Friday with excitement and enthusiasm!  
Congratulations to UCO for their WIN against Tarleton in the Corsicana Bowl at Tiger Stadium.
Board of Trustees Meeting - Nov. 27th
 Dylan White, Senior at Corsicana High School, was recognized for winning GRAND CHAMPION of the State Fair of Texas Agricultural Mechanics 2017! 1st in Class, Grand Champ of Class, Grand Champion of the ENTIRE show with the CISD Freedom Shooting Sports BBQ Trailer! Pictured with Principal Boulware, Dr. Diane Frost and Mark Vitters, AG Mechanic teacher.
Ron Maxfield (CHS '75) presented miniature models of the Crockett School (1885) and Douglas School (1882) two of the first schools in Corsicana, TX.  

Pictured above receiving C Awards: First United Methodist Church Adult Christian Class was recognized for providing a donation to purchase weighted blankets to be used by the Spec. Ed Department;  Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Ladies were recognized for their generous support of Navarro Elementary students and families; Mike McCarter in CISD Transportation was recognized by the CHS Band Directors for being supportive of their program; and The Lions Club was recognized for providing staff and funding in order to provide vision screening for all pre-K students.
