What a Great Start to the 2017-2018 School Year!

Corsicana Middle School Ribbon Cutting

The CISD Board of Trustees cut the official ribbon to open the new Corsicana Middle School.  Community members, students and local officials attended the ceremony on August 14. 

Corsicana High School students will have the opportunity to visit with recruiters and admission officers from more than 50 colleges next Wednesday.

The Tiger Spirit is strong!

Fannin Students Support Walmart Re-Opening

Nation al Anthem at the  
Grand Re-Opening of Walmart accompanied  
by the Navarro College Band.
COLOR RUN by Collins Intermediate School PTO
Collins Intermediate PTO is hosting a COLOR RUN for the 2017 Fall Fundraiser! Come ready to walk/run 2 miles around the IOOF Park and get covered in fun colorful paint! Kids, Parents, Grandparents, Neighbors, EVERYONE is invited! Registration is $20 per person and forms can be picked up in the front office at CIS.

Congratulations to our very own Coach Rivera for receiving the Dairy Max and Dave Campbell's Texas Football Assistant Coach of the Week Award for WEEK 1!   He was selected from nominations of coaches from all over  the state of Texas!
High Five Friday Across the District
CHS athletes are taking care of our  elementary students by greeting them on Fridays with smiles and high fives to start their day!

Madeline Jacobson (CHS Class of '93) came to visit with students interested in Audio and Visual Technology about her degree in Digital Cinema from John Brown University in Arkansas.  Jacobson explained the latest techniques she used in producing a documentary film and addressed student questions about software, sound quality, and storytelling.

Dress Up Time at Drane Learning Center
Mrs. Hernandez's class is celebrating the book, Frida, and the students are dressed the part in serapes and Frida headdresses.
Taking Care of Our Neighbors
Representatives from Community National Bank and Trust joined CHS Student Council members and CHS Principal Shade Boulware to provide the money collected for the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Efforts.  The CNB&T employee donations were matched by the bank for a total contribution of $13,720.  Students from CHS student organizations - Volleyball, Baseball and Basketball teams, National Honor Society, and Yearbook worked the first home CHS Volleyball game and Football games to collect $1,740 from fans. 
"The American Red Cross is extremely grateful for the support from the community," said Jeannie McCarty, Disaster Program Manager for the American Red Cross.  "We have a long road of recovery efforts ahead, and these funds will be put to great use."

Sandra Cervantes  for finishing 18th at the Midway Cross Country Meet.
