C WHITT PR RETAINED BY GARY/CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Gary-Based Communications Firm to Bolster Local Community and Stakeholder Engagement Efforts

(Gary, IND) - The Gary/Chicago International Airport Authority (GCIAA) Board of Directors voted unanimously Oct. 14 to retain C WHITT PR, a Gary-based public relations and communications consultancy led by Founder and CEO Chelsea Whittington. The firm has been engaged to support community engagement and stakeholder communications within Gary and the surrounding region. Under the agreement, the firm will assist with local outreach, stakeholder engagement, and the distribution of airport-approved communications and materials to local audiences.

Under the agreement, C WHITT PR will support community outreach and stakeholder engagement efforts via the distribution of airport-approved communications, participation in community meetings and events as needed, and engagement with local community organizations and stakeholders.

The engagement comes as the airport builds upon a period of significant investment and development, including recent projects supporting air cargo operations, private aviation hangars and a new air traffic control tower currently under construction. Through its outreach and stakeholder engagement efforts, C WHITT PR will help ensure local residents and community organizations remain informed about airport-approved initiatives and activities.

Whittington brings more than 30 years of experience in public relations and communications, including leadership roles in corporate communications, government, nonprofit organizations and education. Her career includes serving as Director of Communications for the City of Gary under Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, where she oversaw media relations, crisis communications, special events, branding and marketing. 

A Gary native and Howard University graduate, Whittington founded C WHITT PR in 2015 and has built a firm serving corporate, nonprofit, educational and governmental clients throughout Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland.
