Updates on the Recall of Caffeinated Drinks
Statement from C4 Energy & Nutrabolt

On July 28, 2023, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) initiated a recall of several energy drink products that did not contain bilingual (French and English) labeling on the can, which included certain flavors of the U.S. version of our C4 Energy drink.

This recall does NOT include ANY of our C4 Energy drinks that are labeled for the Canadian market, as these energy drinks are fully compliant with Canadian regulations and contain both French and English labeling.

Although this recall did not concern caffeine levels for the drinks at issue, it’s important to note that our Canadian C4 Energy drinks contain 140 mg of caffeine per serving, which is under the 180 mg per serving limit set by Canadian regulatory authorities.

Although Nutrabolt sells only its Canadian compliant energy drinks on the Canadian market, it is possible that unauthorized distributors have engaged in parallel imports of our US energy drinks, which has created some confusion.

If you purchased C4 Energy drinks directly from Nutrabolt or our authorized distributor, rest assured these cans are fully compliant with Canadian labeling regulations and are not subject to this recall.

If you have any questions as to whether your inventory is subject to this recall, please inspect that back of the can to confirm that it contains both French and English. We have enclosed an image of the compliant can labeling for comparison.
