Legislation Will Also Ensure Funding Formula for Cities that Annex Inhabited Territories Going Forward

Last year the Legislature restored funding to California’s four most recently incorporated cities through the passage of SB 130 and this year the Legislature has the opportunity to restore funding to cities that had annexed territories since 2006.

The League announces its support for the Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond that is slated for the November 2018 statewide ballot. 
A report released on March 1 by the League and CSAC details tools and resources that cities and counties are using to address the needs of homeless residents in their communities. 
The League Board of Directors took action at its last meeting to support the organization’s advocacy efforts to promote local authority and received updates on League activities and briefings on policy developments.

Deadline to Submit Ideas is June 8

The League of California Cities® is soliciting session proposals and speakers for the 2019 City Managers Department Meeting, which is scheduled for Feb. 13–15 at the InterContinential San Diego. The call for proposals is an opportunity to share best practices, innovative approaches, as well as research and information with managers at their largest annual gathering in California.
