​Mark your calendars for April 2 at 1 p.m. when the League, CSAC and CTC will host a webinar on the new required SB 1 FY 2018–19 project list submission process.
The Yes on 68 campaign is gaining momentum with more cities passing resolutions to support the passage of the $4 billion parks and water bond on the June ballot. 
Cities are encouraged to support AB 2598 (Quirk), to assist cities in enforcing local ordinances and building codes by updating the existing statutory fine caps for inflation.

Legislative Action Day Registration Closes April 13, Webinar Registration Closes April 9

The League of California Cities’ ® 2018 Legislative Action Day.is coming up on April 18. To prepare and brief local officials on priority bills of interest, the League is also holding a Legislative Action Day Preview webinar on April 10. 

Planning is already underway for the 2018 Fire Chiefs Leadership Seminar and the League is soliciting session topics for the Dec. 12–13 conference in San Francisco. 
Opportunities for Cities

Cities can register for a free webinar, scheduled for April 11, that covers a TRIP financing tool available to local agencies where voters have approved local sales tax measures to address unmet transportation needs.

Some of the most significant benefits of League membership for cities since 1988 have flowed from the League’s co-sponsorship of CSCDA.

Participation Now in the Local Update of Census Addresses is Critical for the 2020 Census

The next census does not begin until April 1, 2020, but now is the time for cities to review and comment on the U.S. Census Bureau’s residential address list. 

The Legislature is officially on Spring Break as of March 26 and will return on April 2. Legislative hearings and bills in committee start back up on April 2 and hearings resume in full swing.

The City of Roseville is experimenting with innovative public engagement. More than 120 residents participated in a Feb. 26 event where 25 city staff served as facilitators.
