As I reflect on the past three years as President of CAAHEP, I continue to be amazed at the progress of CAAHEP and the efforts made to better serve our stakeholders, particularly from our Committees on Accreditation. During my tenure, CAAHEP engaged in a strategic planning effort that has offered direction and priority of action. Over the past three years, we have launched a new website; supported efforts in the public policy arena; empowered a representative Standards Committee to work with our CoAs in promoting consistency in standards; established a taskforce to create an on-line accreditation training module; and are on the cusp of launching an on-line accreditation reporting tool. By the way, the list goes on and on.

            As I think of all these accomplishments, I must give credit where credit is due. The CAAHEP Board, and volunteers from our various CoAs deserve the credit. From the chairs and members of the Recommendations Review Committee, the Standards Committee, Planning and Development Committee, Performance Oversight Committee, and the numerous other committees and task forces, let me thank you for your service. Without you, the work of this organization would not be possible. 

            I would also be remiss if I did not recognize and thank the CAAHEP staff. Under the leadership of our Executive Director, Kathy Megivern, CAAHEP has continued to serve as a benchmark for programmatic accreditation in allied health. Kathy, however, would not be successful without the efforts of the CAAHEP Staff. My sincere thanks and deepest appreciation goes out to Lorna Frazier-Lindsey, Theresa Sisneros, Cynthia Jackson-McNeill, Katie Davis, and Kalyani Naik. Without these ladies, I would have been helpless. Thank you.

            In closing, I want to thank the entire CAAHEP Family. I have been blessed in meeting new friends and colleagues. I am certain I will be maintaining many of these relationships long after my service to CAAHEP is completed.
