CABE of Pepperdine has been both social and productive during the months of December, January, and February. In
, we held a Christmas celebration at Dr. Reyna Garcia-Ramos' house where our leadership team interacted with guests by doing activities such as constructing gingerbread houses and doing a gift exchange.
A few of our guests also asked about what CABE is, and so we took that as a recruitment opportunity to explain what CABE is, what we do, and what the benefits are to being a member.
January and February
, we began planning for our annual CABE Visionary Award Reception that will take place at the 2019 CABE Conference in Long Beach, CA.
Dr. Christopher Arellano
, Executive Director of the Teachers Association of Norwalk-La Mirada, has been voted as this year's CABE Visionary Award Recipient and we will celebrate his accomplishment at the reception.
CABE of Pepperdine and CABE Mandarin have begun collaborating and planning for a Mini-Conference in Fall 2019. We have secured a location and a keynote speaker for the conference, and are in the process of securing workshop presenters. We will continue to hold monthly meetings to discuss logistics, additional planning and procurement. As of February 27, we have 51 active members in our chapter.
CABE of Pepperdine will also continue to hold monthly meetings to discuss future professional and social events for the 2018-2019 academic year and will provide updates, accordingly.
