CABLE COMPANY DIGITAL TRANSITION
Yesterday October 28th 2014 was the full digital transition for the Charter cable company servicing much of Western Colorado. This change will affect every Charter cable customer in some way. Here is what you need to know:
- The cable company IS NOT trying to hurt you & just get more money from their customers. They are just abiding by the government mandatory digital transition that has been happening for the last several years. Most of the country has already made this change & we are one of the last areas to be affected.
- The premium cable box channels have changed so you may have to find your favorite shows on a different channel. Please note the HD channels are in the "Hundreds" so we recommend you tune to them. A list of the new lineup can be found HERE.
- ALL basic cable TVs will not function without a digital cable box of some kind. The promotions are changing weekly but you should be able to get 1 or 2 of these boxes for free for the first year. In many cases, especially for wall hung TVs, there will not be space to place these large boxes. For recommendations on how to resolve that challenge please see below.
- TIVO customers will need to change their channel list manually by changing the cable provider from the "Charter Communications Legacy" to the current "Charter Communications" list. Instructions on how to do this can be found HERE.
- For more creative solutions to help smoothly get your cable working & the physical installation looking good please see below.

We are here to help you however we can. Feel free to call or email us with questions & we will do our best!
