October 25, 2021
Dear Friends,

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I inform you of my intention to retire from the Community Action Council of Howard County on June 30, 2022.

It has been thirty-two years! Truly a lifetime yet it feels like thirty-two seconds!

Serving as the President of this incredible organization for the past eleven years has been the greatest experience of my professional life.

I walked through the CAC doors as a 25-year-old thinking that I had so much to give to this small nonprofit tucked away in the back offices of a warehouse building on Rumsey Road. Little did I know that I was the one who had much to receive from this amazing organization. CAC taught me about humanity, humility, and the power of doing good and giving hope as we bring about societal change.

Thank you for the honor and pleasure of working alongside the most talented and impressive staff, partners, donors, funders and ultimately friends. Together, we have boldly transformed CAC in the most significant ways and have created a culture and a set of systems that spark innovative thinking, promote equity and deliver excellent service. Any success I have had over my tenure is directly because of you and your support.

As I move on, please know that CAC will forever be in my heart and will have my support.
In the meantime, I will continue to serve our community and to assist the organization in its transition to new leadership that will undoubtedly sustain CAC and take it to new heights!

Thank you again.

Regards,

Bita
