Residents' Rights Month is a reminder that dignity and safety are non-negotiable. Staffing plays a crucial role in upholding the rights of residents. Fewer staff equals less care, and the overall workforce situation at many facilities has not improved since 2020.

Let's take a look at the American Health Care Association's "State of the Nursing Home Sector 2024 Report. The survey findings reflect the current state of the nursing home sector, which, despite ongoing investments, continues to struggle to rebuild its workforce.

Always remember that upholding Residents' Rights takes all of us: families, staff, and leadership working together. Educate and Advocate!
