Record-Breaking Gala

Last Thursday, nearly 400 gathered at the Mandarin Oriental to raise awareness and critical funds for the CAC's free services for survivors of child abuse and exploitation.

Guests, along with over 80 generous sponsors committed prior to the event, donated a total of more than $750,000―a record-breaking total for the event in its 12th year!

The event celebrated the strength of survivors and individuals who have worked tirelessly to raise awareness, move systems, and promote the healing of survivors, honoring CAC Board Member Kimberly Henry Quagliaroli and her husband Jim Quagliaroli and Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance Executive Director Liam Lowney (pictured).

During the program, attendees heard from a 12-year-old youth advocate who addressed the importance of speaking up and believing kids when they come forward. She also thanked attendees for their role in supporting survivors.

Stop, Block, and Talk

October is National Bullying Prevention Month and the perfect time to remind youth, caregivers, and educators about the importance of staying safe online. Our Stop Block Talk curriculum is designed to empower people of all ages to stay safe while using technology. By helping youth understand the risks that go along with social media, gaming, and just being online, we hope to reduce harm and prevent exploitation, cyberbullying, and more.

As we settle into the new school year, this engaging training helps foster healthy online habits, teaches how to identify red flags, and encourages open conversations about digital safety. Together, we can create safer online spaces and support youth in making smart, confident choices online.

Our Stop Block Talk team is already in motion with multiple classrooms on the calendar and webinars scheduled! Interested in bringing Stop Block Talk to your school, community, or organization? Email Zoe at zoe.sachs@mass.gov to schedule a training or learn more!

Recent Highlight

On October 7, the CAC hosted two Recognizing & Responding to Child Abuse workshops at the 2025 BCYF (Boston Centers for Youth & Families) Academy, a day of professional development, teambuilding, and leadership training for all BCYF staff.

Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) is the City of Boston’s largest youth and human service agency, operating over 35 community centers that offer a variety of programs for people of all ages. Over the summer, the CAC trained BCYF summer program staff as well as Center Directors in preventing, recognizing, and responding effectively to child abuse concerns. It was an honor to be included as guest speakers at the BCYF Academy this year!

Staff Spotlight

Anisha Gandhi is CAC's very first Resource Navigation and Development intern. She is a Senior undergraduate student at Boston University, majoring in Education and Human Development with a focus on Youth Justice. In her role, Anisha will be assisting the CAC's Family Resource Specialist in connecting with local community agencies and finding appropriate resources for families who need them. This could include back-to-school fairs, access to food, language tools, and more.

Prior to joining the CAC, Anisha worked with the juvenile alternative resolution program at the DA's office and interned with the CAC in Santa Clara County, California. Anisha is excited to contribute towards the CAC through developing resources for families and survivors.

Community Connections

The CAC recently hosted Catrin (second from right) from Imara, an organization in the United Kingdom that supports children, teenagers, and their families affected by sexual abuse and domestic abuse. Catrin is in the U.S. conducting research for her project, "Look For The Helpers" and stopped by the CAC to learn about our Support to End Exploitation Now program and other services.
