David Bohm, Executive Director, has announced his decision to resign from the Chamber effective February 6. He will begin a new chapter as the Program Director with Mission Triangle on February 16. He will be overseeing a team and building new connections in communities both within the Triangle and around the state.

Boone Area Chamber
The Chamber has been named a Family Forward NC ® Certified Employer by the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation’s Family Forward NC ® initiative. Launched in 2018, Family Forward NC ® is an innovative initiative to improve children’s health and well-being and keep North Carolina’s businesses competitive. It is employer-led change to increase access to research-based, family-friendly practices — big and small — that improve workplace productivity, recruitment and retention; grow a strong economy; and support children’s healthy development. To date, Family Forward NC ® has engaged with more than 10,000 employers across North Carolina. A Family Forward NC ® Employer Certification designates employers that offer policies and practices that support the health and well-being of working families and children. The certification looks at employer benefits like paid leave and wages, accommodations for pregnant and breastfeeding workers, child care supports, health and wellness benefits, and scheduling practices. The Chamber will host the NC General Assembly Elected Officials Breakfast on February 12, convening business leaders and state legislators for dialogue on workforce development, infrastructure, taxation, and regulatory reform. The Chamber will also lead its 2026 Inter-City Visit & Leadership Conference presented by Brasfield & Gorrie from April 26–29 in Phoenix, Arizona, focused on economic resilience, innovation, and regional growth strategies. Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center
LEXPO, the Chamber’s annual business trade show, returns on February 12th with a premier lineup featuring over 90 local businesses and restaurants. This year, the floor will buzz with a competitive sports theme as exhibitors face off for the "Best of Show" and "Most Spirited" awards. Beyond the competition, the fan-favorite "Flavors of Lexington" invites attendees to enjoy delicious samples from local restaurants and caterers. Over 700 business and community leaders are expected to attend to discover Lexington’s best local services, forge new professional contacts, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of our business community!
Business Over Lunch: The Honorable Ellen Weaver, South Carolina Superintendent of Education, was the featured guest speaker at the Chamber’s quarterly Business Over Lunch program on January 30. Over 100 Chamber leaders attended as Supt. Weaver shared her vision for strengthening education across the state.

IOM - Summer Sites Scholarship & Webinar Recording
We are excited to announce that the scholarship application for 2026 Summer Sites Scholarship is open now! All students, both first-year and returning, are eligible to apply for Institute scholarship funds. If you plan to attend multiple summer sites in 2026 and wish to apply for scholarships at each site, please indicate this when prompted. All applicants will be notified of their application status before registration opens. The application will close at 11:45PM ET on February 8, 2026.
