Along the Graveyard Path (A history of disability in our community) was named one of 16 winners in this year's Knight Foundation Akron Arts Challenge! This project, created by both our adult and youth Theatre on the Spectrum companies, examines disability across time from Paleolithic gravesites through the centuries to the disability rights movement and beyond! We have also received support from the Ohio Arts Council , receiving an ArtsNEXT award for bold, ground-breaking projects!

Our first public sharing of Along the Graveyard Path will take place at the University of Akron's Sandefur Theatre on Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 pm. We will ask our audience to provide feedback that we will take back into rehearsal to prepare for our final performances August 14 & 15 at the new black box theatre next to the Akron Civic on Main St.

You can help bring this production to the stage by helping us match our grant funds. All donations, no matter how small, will help us reach our goal.

Theatre on the Spectrum adult company members presented "Act for Advocacy," a workshop that uses theatre training to help people with disabilities advocate for themselves and others. Held at the convention center in Columbus, "OCALICON is the nation's premier autism and disabilities conference where thousands of people from around the world come together to learn, network, and share research, best practices, and resources to support the life-long needs of individuals with disabilities, including autism."

Act for Advocacy is an ongoing project. We are happy to offer this workshop for any group that works with disabled individuals or who are interested in expanding inclusive programming. Suitable for high schools, colleges and community organizations. Contact us at 234-678-7830 for more information.
