ADHD Stories

My ADHD Clutter Story by Melanie

"As they described the symptoms and experiences, I heard warning bells. Parts of this sounded like me. But I told myself I was doing ok. My career was taking off. I was volunteering in the community and thought I had it all together.

In the meantime, our home was getting worse and worse. Those doom boxes in the basement were filling up that space. And my shopping was creating more and more extra junk in our house. But it was overwhelming me more and more."

ADHD Advocacy Society of BC Community Engagement Survey

The ADHD Advocacy Society of BC is working on a province-wide stakeholder engagement project and wants to hear from British Columbians affected by ADHD.

The purpose is to hear real stories from people about the gaps in services/programs for ADHD support in urban, rural, and remote communities, and discover what solutions might be doable.

With financial support from the Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD), we seek to gather experiences to advocate for better, more consistent ADHD support beyond crisis-driven services.

This survey is the beginning of a wider conversation on ADHD support, acting as a foundation for future advocacy. Participation is voluntary, confidential, and vital for creating a more inclusive support system.

New Regulations Regarding Behaviour Analysts in Ontario

As of July 1, 2024, a new regulation will come into effect that will see Behaviour Analysts regulated by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (soon to be the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario).

This new regulation was mandated by the Government of Ontario in 2023 to improve safety and address the risk of harm to vulnerable Ontarians receiving ABA services. Once the new regulation comes into effect, Ontarians will have confidence that anyone practicing as a Behaviour Analyst is competent to provide safe, quality care and is accountable to a regulatory body for maintaining the standards of practice of the profession.
