ADHD and Substance Use Disorder Peer-led Support Groups
New support groups!
CADDAC is launching new ADHD and Substance Use Disorder Peer-Led Support Groups in January 2024, with funding support from Health Canada.
Through these virtual group sessions, participants will receive emotional support and mentorship, critical education about ADHD, and strategies on how to manage some of the core symptoms that have led to substance use. These groups will be offered in different time zones across Canada and will be peer-led by trained Peer Support Facilitators.

Feeling overwhelmed with life’s twists and turns? CADDAC’s ADHD Support Groups are led by trained facilitators who are all adults with ADHD.
Each session will allow you to share your story or strategies with others who understand what it means to be affected by ADHD. An email with the Zoom link will be sent a day before the session.

Parenting Support Groups
Monthly
Join CADDAC’s Virtual Parent Support Group, led by CADDAC-trained facilitators, who are all parents and caregivers of children with ADHD. Sessions will allow you to share your story or strategies with others who understand what it means to be a parent or caregiver of a child (or children!) with ADHD.
Who can join: Open to any parents/caregivers of children with ADHD in Canada. All support groups are drop-in.
Feel free to register for whichever timezone works best for your personal schedule.

Understanding Adult ADHD
February 22nd - March 7th, 2024
ADHD impacts all areas of life, and understanding is a pivotal starting point for moving forward.This program is designed for those who are newly diagnosed and are embarking on a personal journey of self-discovery. Join us to unravel the complexities of Adult ADHD in an interactive, supportive, and collaborative environment.

- Become aware of how ADHD can impact various aspects of life.
- Take proactive steps to explore non-medication approaches to managing ADHD.

In this Lunch and Learn event, you can learn more about the Skills for Success Pilot Project, and how we can encourage employers to support individuals with disabilities secure employment using the 9 essential skills in their hiring process. Each participant will receive a free Yeti tumbler, and 1 participant will receive a free Yeti soft cooler through a raffle.

The Cunning Little Vixen: Relaxed Performance
Tuesday, February 13 at 7:00pm
The Canadian Opera Company invites members of the Disability Community and the Neurodiverse and Autistic Communities to attend a Relaxed Performance of The Cunning Little Vixen on Tuesday, February 13th at 7pm.
During a Relaxed Performance, the opera itself is unchanged but adjustments are made within the theatre to create a more accessible environment. Sound levels are lowered, house lights are dimmed rather than switched off, and audience members are free to move in and out of their seats as needed.
A venue guide will be provided to help audience members prepare for the Relaxed Performance.

ADHD 101: Welcome to the ADHD Brain

Join Aaron Bailey, a certified ADHD & Executive Function Life Coach (and CADDAC Youth ADHD Group Coaching Program Facilitator!) as he gives a glimpse into the life of someone living with ADHD. In this presentation we will explore the neurological differences underlying ADHD, common impacts, and some practical strategies to start supporting your amazing brain.
The presentation will take place at Fanshawe College Simcoe Campus at 634 Ireland, in Room B115. The presentation is free, however, donations are welcomed to help cover the cost of the room.

Spectrum on the Spectrum
Thursday February 22, 2024
This event takes place on the 4th Thursday of every month.
Waterloo Region Family Network and Spectrum present Spectrum on the Spectrum, a monthly drop-in group for queer and trans people in the autistic community who are 18+ in Waterloo Region.
This is an opportunity to gather and enjoy activities including board games, crafts, colouring, and discussion in an accepting and welcoming space. Games and materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring in their own activity/art supplies if they would like.
The drop-in group takes place at Spectrum, 210-283 Duke Street West, Kitchener.
