CADDAC is seeking a Policy Analyst, Summer Student who will be responsible for writing policy papers, briefing notes, and developing information package and tool kits. They will conduct research and analysis of local, provincial, and national policies, programs and initiatives that affect the well-being of individuals with ADHD and their families. The focus of the policy paper will be on ADHD and Treatment.

ADHD Support Groups
Feeling overwhelmed with life’s twists and turns? CADDAC’s ADHD Support Groups for Parents and Adults are led by trained facilitators who are all adults with ADHD.
Each session will allow you to share your story or strategies with others who understand what it means to be affected by ADHD. An email with the Zoom link will be sent a day before the session.
**Please note that our Support Groups will be on pause for the summer. Our last meetings will be in June, and will resume in September**

ADHD and Substance Use Disorder Peer-led Support Groups
CADDAC's new ADHD and Substance Use Disorder Peer-Led Support Groups are open to any adults with ADHD in Canada who are struggling with Substance Use Disorder. These support groups receive funding support from Health Canada.
Through these virtual group sessions, participants will receive emotional support and mentorship, critical education about ADHD, and strategies on how to manage some of the core symptoms that have led to substance use. These groups are offered in different time zones across Canada and are led by trained Peer Support Facilitators. Feel free to register for whichever timezone works best for your personal schedule!
**Please note that our Support Groups will be on pause for the summer. Our last meetings will be in June, and will resume in September**

When you need help with homework, Mom’s the first one you ask. When you can’t find something, Mom knows where it is. When you need a special cake for your birthday, Mom can make it just right.
For a woman like me who struggles with ADHD, these expectations can be painful. Daddy is the one who keeps things running around here. He’s the organized and calm one. I do a lot. But if it weren’t for him, we’d have ice cream melting in the refrigerator.

ADHD and Comorbidity Webinar
Friday, June 20th fom 7-9pm MST
The prevalence of comorbidity in children and adolescents is about 33% but it increases to almost 66% in adults with ADHD. This presentation will help you understand the various comorbid conditions and their importance in being diagnosed and treated.
These include Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorder, Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders, Obesity, and Sleep Disorders. Understanding and addressing these associated conditions are essential for improving outcomes for adults with ADHD. Trying to treat ADHD without addressing the comorbid conditions most often lead to poor outcomes.

S.T.A.R Program
Begins in July 2024 at Foothills Academy in Calgary, Alberta
The goal of the S.T.A.R. Program is for young adults aged 18- 23 in the ADHD/ Learning Disability community to develop the skills and confidence needed to gain independence. Adulthood can be an intimidating prospect, but S.T.A.R. is here to help explain these responsibilities and provide tools to help you prepare!
Through a variety of engaging activities, presentations, guest speakers and real-world volunteering experiences, we will examine the realities of adulthood and prepare for them.

In-person for residents of Calgary, Alberta
Summer break is a perfect opportunity to enroll your child in a structured program that combines social-emotional learning and recreational activities to help kids and teens build healthy relationships, mental wellness, conversation skills, effective communication, friendships, coping strategies and more.
