Teens and Opioids: What Parents Need to Know
Wednesday, July 6th
2:00pm -3:30pm
Operation Parent is again joining forces with Arlene Rice whose life’s work is to provide hope to anyone dealing with addiction. She will present an informative webinar digging deep into the topic of teen opioid use, focus on how prescription pain pills can lead to heroin or fentanyl use.

Arlene will teach participants about the various types of opioids, how to recognize use, and where and how a teen might conceal drugs. Most importantly, she is a parent who has lived through losing a child to drug overdose and crusaded two children to recovery. You will leave with hope and resources if a teen you love is struggling with addiction.

 for Substance Use Disorder
FREE Parent Handbooks Available!
As parents, to protect our children we must choose awareness and prevention. Wouldn’t you rather be equipped to recognize the early warning signs of issues such as anxiety, substance use, social media and screen time before they turn into something more harmful? These are just a few of the topics addressed in Operation Parent's most recent version of their Parent Handbook for Middle and High School Students. This outstanding resource helps educate parents so they can connect-the-dots between seemingly harmless issues, like social media use, to high-risk behaviors such as substance misuse.

Be proactive and equip yourself with this invaluable tool where you can also find trends, warning signs, misconceptions, tips and advice for the toughest issues you may face during your parenting journey.

FREE Deterra Drug Deactivation Bags Are Available!
The majority of teens abusing prescription drugs get them from family, friends and the home medicine cabinet. Unused prescription medication thrown in the trash can be retrieved and abused or illegally sold. Unused drugs that are flushed down the toilet contaminate the water supply. Proper disposal of unused drugs prevents drug diversion, prevents addiction and saves lives while protecting the environment.

To help address this need, CADY is offering free Deterra Drug Deactivation Bags to the community in order to safely dispose of unwanted, expired or unused medications.
