CAEA 2024 Professional Award Recipient Weekly Highlight | |
Maryann Schultz
Outstanding Active Retired Visual Art Educator
Northern Area
| |
As a commercial artist in Chicago, Maryann ran her own studio for 22 yrs. After a move to Sacramento, She decided it was time to pay forward all the success she earned in her artistic career. Her intention was to teach all she knew as an artist to her students. Maryann still continues to inspire even after retirement as she did during her teaching days in the San Juan Unified School District. As a strong advocate for the arts, Maryann has carried on for several years now encouraging & influencing teachers & students of Northern California by volunteering as the chair person for the annual YAM Show. Many of us know or can surely imagine the countless hours involved in coordinating such a show yet, Maryann does & will continue to do so because she recognizes the incredible benefits to every student involved such as boosting their self-confidence which gives them a sense of pride in themselves, a marvelous achievement & well worth the effort.

Administrator “Ask Letter” For CAEA Membership
As Art Educators, we are no strangers to advocacy.
We so often have to advocate for the importance of what we do, the resources we need for our classrooms, and for our own professional development.
CAEA is here to help build your advocacy toolbox: and this includes making it as easy as possible for you to request financial support from administrators for membership costs to join your state and national professional organization. Remember: a personal request from educators is always more powerful than a mass email from our organization.
Click here for a customized letter that you can personalize in an email to your school administrator. You can use this to renew your own current membership or to help an art educator you know who is not a current member become one.
