CAER: A New Community Partnership Resource Portal for Adult Education

Consortia Involved:

Ventura County Adult Education Consortium

Adult education programs across the nation including California are facing major funding cuts, which impacts their ability to serve students. To solve this, the Ventura County Adult Education Consortium developed an innovative platform called CAER (California Adult Education Resources). This tool connects adult schools with independently funded nonprofit organizations in their local area, opening up new avenues for collaboration and financial support. By leveraging ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer API, CAER provides school leaders with a simple, secure way to identify and partner with local nonprofits, ensuring students continue to receive vital services.

Want to see how this asset-based approach is transforming adult education?
