Advancing CA Adult Education Model Program

In 2018-2019 the Rialto Adult School offered a small diploma and GED program to the community. The diploma program consisted of one teacher with approximately 50 students total. The GED program consisted of one teacher with approximately 60 GED students total. All classes were conducted in person.

The problem of practice was the lack of access to technology and the inflexibility of the program. The program was stagnant for many years offering no access to technology and limiting the students to completion of paper work packets and book work. The required in-person attendance limited access to students who were in the workforce. To learn more about the response, visit their story; Rialto Unified School District Model Program, and visit the Advancing California Adult Education website to view other Model Programs throughout California.

College Showcase to Highlight Transitions

State Center Adult Education Consortium and State Center Community College District host an annual College Showcase. The Showcase features presentations from each of the four community colleges, and also includes a resource fair with community partners. They focus on transitions and opportunities to learn what resources are available at each college and in the community. Adult Ed counselors, administrators, outreach teams, support staff, and teachers attend this event.
