New Adult Education Teaching Credential Program | |
Many educators at Santa Clara Adult Education (SCAE) and other adult schools across California hold Adult Education Credentials issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). The CTC provides credentials for teachers in English Language Learner programs, High School Diploma programs, and other adult education programs statewide.
Requiring teachers to hold credentials ensures a high level of expertise and quality in the instruction provided to adult education students. However, pursuing an Adult Education Credential in California can be challenging. Currently, only four adult education credentialing programs exist in the state, all located in Southern California.
In response to this need, Santa Clara Unified School District, in collaboration with Evergreen Community College, is excited to announce a free Adult Education Credentialing Program for the local community and other adult schools statewide. SCAE will support teacher candidates through the application process for their preliminary and clear credentials, while Evergreen Community College will offer the required coursework.
For more information, please contact Santa Clara Adult Education (408) 423-3500 or santaclaraadulted@scusd.net
