This week, the CAEP Office and CAEP TAP, in collaboration with CASAS and OTAN will launch the CAEP Regional Network meetings to discuss the successes and challenges presented by COVID-19 and agency closures. The
kick-off meeting will take place Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Additionally, each region has a designated date to participate in a regional meeting. If you haven't done so already,
register to attend. Invite members from your region, including instructors, support staff and data personnel to participate. We want to connect and engage with everyone at this time.

Statewide COVID-19 Critical Events Survey
|
|
|
The California Adult Education Office is asking agencies to fill out this statewide
COVID-19 Critical Events survey. The survey addresses the impact of COVID-19 on your adult education program, the level of services and instruction you are able to provide at this time, what supports are needed, and more. The form asks thirty (30) questions and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

In response to COVID-19 and school closures across the State, the California Leadership Projects have set up a number of online webinars and office hours for adult education practitioners who are continuing to teach and support their learners, and a dedicated
COVID-19 Field Support webpage
. This webpage includes valuable resources related to distance learning, and archived materials from their past webinars and office hours. Their upcoming webinars and office hours are outlined below:

- Recording Distance Learning in TOPSpro Enterprise (CASAS), presented by a CASAS Guest Speaker, is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
- Gamify Your Classroom With Online Tools, presented by Susan Gaer, is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.

Hanover Research – Best Practices in Online Course Seat Time Report

The Hanover Research report summarizes strategies that institutions offering online courses can use to ensure students’ “seat time” or “time-on-task” allows for regular and meaningful engagement with course materials. The report includes a sample of relevant seat time formulas and calculation methods of “seat time” or “time-on-task.” Download the report
