CAEP Summit 2020 Highlight

At the CAEP Summit 2020, practitioners will learn and collaborate with one another on key topics impacting all adult education. Of the close to 70 sessions available at the CAEP Summit 2020, more than 70 percent are provided by local practitioners.

CAEP funds are restricted to K12 adult and noncredit students in the seven program areas. CAEP funds may not be spent outside of this student population. If you have questions, please contact CAEP TAP at tap@caladulted.org or (888) 827-2324.

Grow Apprenticeship California Equitable Apprenticeship - Effective Practices Survey

Grow Apprenticeship California has launched a survey to identify key effective practices and program elements that can inform the creation of new apprenticeship programs. The survey objectives are to better understand how sites have constructed programs that provide equitable access to populations who have traditionally been excluded from high-wage and high-quality jobs, who is doing this work across California, and how organizations have addressed the need for on-ramps and apprenticeship programs that support the inclusion of the diverse communities in this state.

The deadline to participate is Friday, October 16, 2020.

Six Months of Economic Crisis: What Is Next?

Over the summer, PPIC convened two workshops of economists and labor market researchers to provide insights into California’s economic challenges. Participants offered a consensus that repercussions will be long-lasting. The following article outlines six key issues that will shape California’s recession and recovery: the recession in California will likely be worse than in other states; inequality is likely to grow; falling labor force participation is a concern; federal policy plays an outsized role; and many sectors are fast-forwarding to the future.

COABE Ability to Benefit Virtual Symposium

Join Community College Chancellors, Presidents, Provosts, Financial Aid Leaders and Registrars for the COABE Ability to Benefit Virtual Symposium on November 17, 2020. The Ability to Benefit (ATB) provision is the federal financial aid provision that allows individuals without a high school diploma or its equivalent to begin their postsecondary education while building foundational skills and completing a secondary credential. ATB is a powerful enrollment, access, and equity tool for community colleges.
